41. Fade-in, Fade-out and Fade-in again

Macromedia Flash has very few rivals. It is one of the best packages for quickly creating a fade-in, and fade-out animated graphic. For the following I've created an initial image with a 100% alpha, and then created a motion tweening effect with a 0% alpha at the end. This will create a fade-out. The other image can be faded-in using the opposite effect.

The beauty of the Merchiston Castle building is enhanced in this case with a contrast against the artist interpretion of the countryside. I really can't believe that the developers were allowed to bolt on the extra buildings (at the side of the picture) onto the castle. These days it just wouldn't be allowed, but in the Sixties anything was possible.
